Tips and Recommendations
All these pieces are exposed and are susceptible to different environmental factors and will lose their properties and deteriorate if they do not have the proper treatment, the agents that most damage this material are:
- Weather agents: Refers to rain, cold, humidity and, especially, the sun. The wood that is exposed to these elements is degrading. Ultraviolet rays are the most harmful because they discolor and destroy the fibers of the material and in severe cases lead to the cracking of the cellular structure of the wood.
- Fungi and insects: If the wood is exposed to humidity, there is a high probability that fungi will appear and can cause a lot of damage to the material. Additionally, insects, especially termites, can do a lot of damage.
- Dust and dirt: If the wood is exposed to dust and dirt, it can create stains and if it is not cleaned regularly the stains can be fixed and recovered later it will cost more.
