Product Conditions of Use

Wood is a material that requires specific care to keep it in good condition for longer, especially the Wood Therapy pieces that are designed in different sizes and shapes to adapt to the different shapes of the body and are commonly used with the help of oils or special creams for a perfect performance.

Madecolombia’s Maderoterapia pieces are pieces with processes that provide resistance and durability for the aesthetic treatments to which this type of pieces are usually subjected, they are perfectly sanded, sealed and lacquered pieces and do not represent any risk to the health or safety of people under normal conditions of use, these processes in turn facilitate cleaning and maintenance so that its properties are maintained for longer.

Tips and Recommendations
All these pieces are exposed and are susceptible to different environmental factors and will lose their properties and deteriorate if they do not have the proper treatment, the agents that most damage this material are:

  • Weather agents: Refers to rain, cold, humidity and, especially, the sun. The wood that is exposed to these elements is degrading. Ultraviolet rays are the most harmful because they discolor and destroy the fibers of the material and in severe cases lead to the cracking of the cellular structure of the wood.
  • Fungi and insects: If the wood is exposed to humidity, there is a high probability that fungi will appear and can cause a lot of damage to the material. Additionally, insects, especially termites, can do a lot of damage.
  • Dust and dirt: If the wood is exposed to dust and dirt, it can create stains and if it is not cleaned regularly the stains can be fixed and recovered later it will cost more.

To prevent damage and deterioration in the Maderoterapia pieces, take into account the following recommendations:

  • Upon receiving your package, immediately remove the wrapping paper that has been covering each piece and put the pieces in a dry and cool place.
  • Keep the pieces away from heat vents, radiators, or fireplaces.
  • Keep the pieces in a place free from humidity.
  • Avoid dropping pieces so as not to cause splits or cracks in the material.
  • Clean each time you use the pieces in any procedure and verify that the wood is free of moisture to avoid the presence of fungus.
  • Use a soft cloth, a cotton cloth or a chamois cloth, they are ideal, dampening slightly with just water or with a combination of water and baking soda, clean the piece removing any excess oils or creams, do not forget to remove all moisture.
  • Do not use abrasive cloths that are frayed or tangled, these will cause wood degradation.
  • Never use products that contain alcohol, ammonia or other strong acids or bases that could deteriorate the finish of the piece or generate substantial damage to the wood.
  • Painters (artists) brushes or other natural bristle brushes are useful for dusting between carvings or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Do not make any kind of alterations such as; sanding, sealing or varnishing etc., this can generate changes in the nature of the wood and attract external agents that can be harmful.
  • Do not disassemble or decompose the parts, if you do, it is your responsibility that the piece works correctly.

Following these guidelines will reduce any damage or deterioration due to misuse.
